A little over eleven years ago, on a little property in Georgia with our closest friends and family, Chris and I said ‘I do’. It was a beautiful wedding, I have to say. My best friend and I did all the invitations, decorations, and food planning. DIY wedding win and an awesome start to a new adventure.
Last year we planned to take our first solo trip for our anniversary and then Coronavirus shut down the world. This year we decided to make up for missing that celebration. I found my wedding dress, cleaned her up, and made it a goal to fit back in it. My awesome friend, the one who helped me with all the wedding DIY details then took the most amazing “trash the dress” pictures.
Trash the dress does not mean you have to ruin the dress. I have seen some that involve mud, paint, or food, and those dresses probably ended up trashed. We went to the beach.
We did not stick to the sidelines and the dry sand like the other wedding photographer we saw that day. We got right into the water and down in the sand after our first glamor shots.
I felt silly. I felt beautiful. I felt loved.
I highly recommend the experience. My dress is washed and cleaned like nothing ever happened.
I am also thankful for an awesome photographer who doesn’t stop capturing the moments and gets the silly ones too. These are my favorites.
